11/01/2011 thru 11/04/2011 - SEMA 2011

Enjoyed another few days in Vegas to see the SEMA 2011 show.  I still did not have enough time to visit all the booths and see everything.  I did a few videos below, one is a walk thru using my Hero HD camera, and a few other videos of the outside parking lot area where they had some Mustangs and Corvettes running.

10/02/2011

Rainy and cold day today for the Autumn Leaf event at North Park.  Despite the rain, won first place in the SM/SSM class today in Autocross.  See GoPro video of one of the runs I did on the course.  I liked the course setup, a few nice twist in spots to make it interesting.

09/24/2011 - Another Fox Body Mustang

I ran across this 1990 Ford Mustang convertible for sale, nice shape.  Cleaned it up next day, here is a photo of it.  Stock 5.0, long mac headers, stock gears.  It sounds really good like a Mustang should, but this one is pretty tame, not a lot of power compared to the EVO that is for sure.

9/16/2011 - New Camera

Picked up a GoPro Camera, had some fun at Flashlight Drags.  After the 1/8 mile run, you get to drive around the Beaver Run race track.  Beat the GTO by a car length or so...and was still pulling on him even at the end.  See video:

September 8, 2011 - Test n Tune night at Pittsburgh Raceway Park

Finally in the 11's, still have to improve on the sixty foot times.  But ran a 11.76 1/4 mile time at 117 mph

September 2011 - Drove up to Buschur Racing in Wakeman, Ohio for some tuning and dyno runs.  See the attached dyno sheet from the Mustang Dyno (dyno numbers are usually pretty low on these dyno's compared to others).  370 whp and 369 tq

08/20 to 8/21, 2011 - Drove up to the 19th annual EVO/DSM Shootout in Norwalk, Ohio for all day Saturday Autocross racing and all day drag racing on Sunday.  Fantastic event, lots of cars and spectators.  Norwalk is a great drag racing facility.  See some still photos below.  Still trying to find some video...

06/2011 - Made a long trip up to Mercer Country to Sunset Drag Strip.  It was an interesting 1/8mile track, nice and close to the action.  I won another Top Tuner trophy, beating out the competition pretty easily.  Crazy looking trophies (see below)

5/2011 - Back to back weekends of racing, does it get any better than that!  Took first place again in the STU class in AutoCross, different group of cars, so it was still challenging.

4/2011 - Took first place in STU class today in AutoCross, new tires this year are making a huge difference in the cars performance.  I am happy with the results running with the stock suspension setup.

5/2010 - Flashlight drags in Green County near Waynesburg college.  Nice turn-out of cars, but no Subies and I was the only EVO.  Seems the group down South didn't know anything about EVO's...I showed them how great these cars are to drive.  I won the Top Tuner trophy, beat out a GTI, Stage 4 Neon, and Lexus ISF.  Took out a supercharged Chevy S10, supercharged Mustang  and a Z06.  They know what an EVO is now !!!

4/2010 - first meet of the year for the local EVO owners.  Nice night shot at the Red Robin parking lot...damn those burgers were good last night.

4/2010 - pic up at North Park before autocross started.

3/2010 - took a six hour drive out to New Jersey and picked up my third EVO.  I went with the IX again since I think this is the best model EVO built.  Stock for now, but I will be doing a conserative mod on this one over the summer.  The goal will be a mid 11 second car when I am done.

7/2009 - stupid driver crashed into my blue Miata on Route 8 when I was coming home from work.  I was surprised how well the car handled with a 40mph impact, air bag went off, not a scratch on me.  The Saturn SUV had some major damage..no wonder Saturn is out of business.

5/2009 - wow, what fun the auto cross was today.  I took first place in my section, running the Miata hard and cutting almost 3 seconds off from my first run.  Too bad my Miata doesn't have another 100hp, that would be a blast!!!

4/2009 - you gotta love http://www.discounttiredirect.com for tires/wheels.  Called Thursday, placed an order, they showed up next day delivered.  Free shipping. They look great I think.  Went with Falken Azenis 205/50/15's.  Should help stick around the track better than the OEM stocks I had.

3/2009 - Just picked up a nice used Mazda Miata. I am going to try the auto cross and SOLO II this year...breaking too many things with the drag racing.  Mods to appear very soon, once I figure out what works on these cars.  So far it is a blast to drive even in low horsepower stock mode.
